Sermorelin is a synthetic peptide analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone, GHRH. It works by stimulating the pituitary gland to release the body’s own growth hormone rather than directly supplying external growth hormone. It is a 29-amino-acid peptide fragment of human GHRH and is known as one of the shortest functional fragments capable of stimulating growth hormone release.
It has historically been used in medical settings as a provocative diagnostic test for growth hormone deficiency and has also been used in treatment contexts for children with growth hormone deficiency/growth failure. However, products containing sermorelin were withdrawn/discontinued from the US market by the manufacturer, so it is not currently available there as a standard FDA-approved commercial drug product.
Commonly associated research / medical areasSermorelin is usually associated with:
Growth hormone deficiency evaluation
Pituitary growth hormone response testing
Growth hormone axis research
Pediatric growth failure history
Anti-aging and wellness claims in private clinics, though these claims need careful regulatory handling

Research/peptide name: PT-141
Brand name in the US: Vyleesi
Dosage form: Subcutaneous injection
Drug class: Melanocortin receptor agonist
